For being a security guard, in most of the countries, it is must that one needs to have a security guard card issued by the authentic authorities or agencies. Without the guard card you would not be legally authorized to serve as a guard on any post. This card verifies your abilities and skills to serve as the guard. The security guard card is surety that you’re well trained and well skilled for the position; you have attended all the trainings and have cleared all the exams that are must for being a security guard.
The procedure to get your guard card is a bit tough. There are some verification procedures, trainings and exams that you need to go through before the card is issued to you. These verifications, trainings and exams are conducted at the time of applying for the guard card. Clearing in all these processes is must to get your guard card. At the time you apply for this card, you have to fill a form that needs your name and street address. Within this application you also have to give the details of criminal history if any. All the information you provide is subject to be verified. Giving any wrong information can cancel the application; any one with the criminal record of any kind in past is not eligible to apply for the post of security guard.
Along with the criminal record history you are also needed to give your finger print scan. To give finger print scan you can go to any live scan station to get your fingerprint scan. The finger print scan is also a pre requisite for this job. Without it you application would not be considered as complete. After your details are verified you have to attend an eight hour long session which teaches you about the powers to arrest. There would be an exam based on the same session and it will be a must clear exam. Clearance in this exam would let you get your guard card.
After all these formalities, verifications and clearance in the exams; you’re fully eligible to get your guard card. You would be issued the guard card in some time after all these formalities get done. You can collect the guard card from the located office of Bureau of Security and Investigation Services. You would also have to pay for the application fee for this card. On the completion of all these formalities you would be issued the card. Upon the issuance of the card you would be able to serve as the security guard in your city or state.
These are all the formalities to get your guard card. There is also some training within a month of the issuance of the card and another within the six months after you get your guard card. At this time you’re eligible to keep firearms but you also have to get the certification for the firearms. Keeping uncertified firearms would lead to the cancellation of the security guard card. To keep security guard card approved you would also need to keep the firearm certification updated according to the rules and regulation of your state.
